De Rockschool: who, what, how?
De Rockschool is a creative and hands-on music school in the heart of Leuven, located above Leo Caerts Music Shop at Naamsestraat 90. De Rockschool is easily accessible from Wilsele by car, public transport or bicycle. For over 20 years, we have been offering tailor-made music lessons, and in that time many professional musicians have started out with us as coaches, turning their passion into a career. Everyone from the age of 6 is welcome! No prior experience is needed to get started, but we also have plenty to offer advanced and professional musicians.
Private music lessons in Leuven
Have you always wanted to learn an instrument? Need help mastering your favorite song, or dreaming of starting a band with other musicians? This is your chance! We offer private instrument lessons and band coaching, right in the heart of Leuven. Whether you’re a complete beginner, already experienced, young or old: musicians from Wilsele are welcome.
In the individual lessons, you’ll work one-on-one with your coach for half an hour each week, focusing on your personal goals. Every lesson is tailored to your level, interests, and needs, giving you professional guidance on your musical journey. Since our lessons are fully customized, you can even choose the coach that suits you best. Take a look at our team and find the perfect match to start making music with!
Each individual music lesson lasts 30 minutes.
You can choose from the following options:
- School Year Formula – €739
- 30 + 2 free music lessons from September to June
- 10 Lesson Series – €270
- 10 consecutive lessons during the school year
- You can start a 10-lesson package at any time during the school year
- Extending to the full school-year package can be done in two ways:
- Before November: promotional rate of €469 for 20 extra lessons
- From November onwards: standard rate of €540 for 20 extra lessons
- Trial Lesson – €23
- 1 music lesson to check if it suits you
- Maximum of 1 per person per instrument
- Lesson Card – €295
- 10 individually bookable lessons during the school year
- A flexible option for people with irregular schedules or for those who want to try out different coaches and/or instruments

With both the school year formula and the ten-lesson series, you come every week (thirty two or ten weeks), with the exception of the school holidays. That means that our schedule works the same as the average music school, we follow the school holidays and expect you to attend every lesson. In this way you will achieve faster results and you can get the most out of your lessons. Students are expected to have their own instrument so that they are able to practice at home. More information can be found in our regulations.
For the lesson card you are responsible for booking lessons throughout the year. We do not guarantee that you will be able to take these lessons with the same coach, nor that you can complete these lessons in one school year. But don’t worry, an unfinished card can be taken to the next school year and this for a maximum of one school year.
Absences
We understand that it’s not always possible to attend a music lesson every week. That’s why each student is entitled to 2 valid absences per school year. If you’re sick, a simple doctor’s note allows you to schedule a make-up lesson at the end of your lesson series. If you have to work, a note from your employer is sufficient. Our regulations list all the valid reasons for which you can request a make-up lesson.
Band classes
Our rock camps are becoming legendary, and due to growing demand, we now offer students the chance to play together throughout the year under the guidance of a coach. Whether you’re a drummer, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, singer, or tambourine player, we’ll match you with the right fellow musicians. We take into account your favorite genre, age, and skill level.
30 band lessons of 1 hour cost €475.
With a coach guiding you, you’ll play your favorite songs for one hour a week alongside other musicians, all with the goal of getting ready to conquer the world. And hopefully, the world is ready for your rising talent, because at the end of the year, we wrap things up with our exciting end concert 'Rockschoolrock' featuring all the bands.
Music camps
For more than 20 years we’ve been heading off to music camps with a group of young musicians, and one thing has never changed: We Rock! During the summer holidays, De Rockschool organizes unforgettable music camps in and around Leuven, within cycling distance of Wilsele. For an entire week you’ll live and breathe music: form a band, take specialized lessons and workshops, and most importantly, have tons of fun. Our camps are the perfect mix of learning, playing, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

This school year you can choose from 3 camps:
- Mini-Rockertjesweek – €315
- A five-day musical adventure (summer camp) for mini rockers aged 5 to 8
- Rockertjesweek – €365
- A five-day music camp (summer camp) for rockers aged 8 to 12
- Rock Camp – €625
- A five-day music bootcamp (summer camp with overnight stay) full of activities, workshops, and a final concert for rockers aged 12 and up
