During this five-day music camp, you’ll explore music from A to G. You’ll take music lessons, join creative workshops, enjoy arts and crafts and fun games, and so much more. The highlight? Musical summer camp for future rockers aged 8 to 12 in the heart of Leuven
What does a music camp look like?
Rockertjesweek is packed with musical fun: from exciting games and creative music workshops to lessons and arts-and-crafts activities. Our young rockers also get to experience what it’s like to play in a real rock band, guided by professional coaches. And at the end of the week? They’ll give an unforgettable concert that will leave every parent amazed!
Band classes
During Rockertjesweek, the children are placed in their very first real rock band! Together, they learn to play music, combining just the right amount of theory and technique, while working towards a spectacular final performance. The bands feature a great mix of vocals, piano, drums, bass, and guitar, and are guided by experienced band coaches from De Rockschool. Does your little rocker already have some experience with an instrument? Perfect! They’ll still learn a lot from our coaches.
Music classes
In addition to band lessons, the Rockertjes also have the opportunity to take individual music lessons. Is your little rocker struggling with a chord or a melody? Or did the band lesson feel a bit too fast? In these sessions, they can ask all their questions and explore their instrument at their own pace. The lessons are taught by our professional coaches, who have years of experience both in their instruments and in teaching. They’ll be there all week to provide personal guidance and support to help each Rockertje grow.
Workshops & Games
Rock ’n’ roll isn’t just about taking lessons! That’s why we also make time for relaxation and fun during our music camp. The days are filled with musical workshops, games, and creative arts and crafts. Each day revolves around a musical theme – in a previous edition, we had a hip-hop day where the Rockertjes got to customize their own vinyl records. A beloved tradition is designing unique camp T-shirts: from colorful ’60s-style tie-dye to modern designs. Each shirt is one of a kind and a lasting keepsake from the camp.

Price
This five-day mini summer camp (without overnight stay), packed with musical activities, workshops, and a final concert, costs €365. Childcare is provided for €50.
For which rockertjes?
All young rock stars aged 8 to 12 who dream of a musical future are welcome to join Rockertjesweek! Are you younger or older? No problem – you can join one of our other music camps, such as Mini-Rockertjesweek or Rockkamp. No experience is needed for Rockertjesweek, and you don’t have to be a student at De Rockschool. Everyone can join!
Final concert
The final concert will take place on August 14 at 4:00 PM on the main stage of kindergarten Appeltuin in Leuven. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, and even faraway relatives: everyone is welcome to come and enjoy (and maybe shed a happy tear).

Practical
- Rockertjesweek runs from August 10 to 14 2026 at Appeltuin in Leuven
- This music camp is daytime only (no overnight stay)
- Each day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:30 PM (childcare is provided for €50)
- Rockertjes do not need any prior musical experience
- Lunch is not provided, but we do offer an afternoon snack and plenty of hydration
- A ticket for Leuven’s youngest festival costs €365
- We are not responsible for any sudden rock star attitudes your little Rockertje may develop!
*De Rockschool is recognized as an acting member of the Leuven Cultural Council. This means you can request a childcare certificate (281.86). In addition to this certificate, you may also be eligible for a subsidy from your health insurance fund for recreational activities. You will need to request a form from your health insurance fund and submit it to us fully completed on one of the camp days.
