A music camp for little Rockstars in the heart of Leuven
Are you between 8 and 12 years old and dreaming of playing in a real rock band? Join us for Rockertjes Week!
From August 11 to 15, we’ll be turning the Appeltuin upside down! During our five-day music camp, we’ll transform you into a true rock star. You’ll learn everything about music, from A to G, from rhythm to riff. We’ll do this through music lessons, musical workshops, creative activities, games, and much more. At the end of the camp, you’ll perform a debut concert with your own rock band on the giant stage at De Appeltuin! And the best part? You don’t need any musical experience to join!

What does this music camp look like?
Rockertjes Week is packed with musical and exploratory games, workshops, music lessons, creative crafts, and so much more. Under the guidance of professional coaches, the young rockers will also learn to play in a real rock band. By the end of the camp, the final concert is sure to leave no parent unmoved!
Band Lessons
During our music camp, the little Rockers are placed into their very first real rock band! Here, they learn to play music together with the right theory and technique. At the end of the week, they’ll combine all their practice to rock the town. The bands are made up of a balanced mix of vocals, piano, drums, bass, and guitar and is guided by one of the coaches from De Rockschool
Does your little Rocker already have experience with one of these instruments? Sign them up anyway! Even experienced players can learn a lot from our professional coaches.
Music Lessons
In addition to band lessons, our music camp also offers individual lessons. Is your little Rocker struggling with a particular chord or melody? Or did the band lessons move a bit too quickly? They can bring their questions to the individual lessons, where they can explore their instrument at their own pace and ask as many questions as they like.
The lessons are taught by our professional coaches, each with years of experience in both their discipline and teaching. They’ll be ready all week to help the little Rockers grow!
Musical workshops and games
A Rocker’s life can’t be all about music lessons, of course. That’s why our music camp, like any summer camp, makes time for fun and relaxation. We organize everything from musical workshops to games and craft activities. Each day at camp revolves around a musical theme. In a previous edition, for example, we had a hip-hop day, where the Rockers customized their own vinyl records. Every year, we create unique T-shirts together with the Rockers as a camp souvenir: from 1960s tie-dye to more modern designs, each T-shirt is one of a kind and a special memory.
The workshops and games change every year, based on the theme. So, for now, they’re top secret, but our instructors are already brainstorming how to outdo themselves once again!
Who is welcome?
All rock stars aged 8 to 12 are welcome. If you’re younger or older, you can join one of our other music camps. Be sure to check out our Mini-Rockertjes Week or Rock Camp.
No prior experience is needed to join Rockertjes Week, nor do you have to be following lessons at De Rockschool.
Performance
The final concert will take place on August 15 at 4:00 PM in the Appeltuin. All parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends, and distant friends are welcome to come and shed a proud tear!
Practical information
- Rockertjes Week runs from August 11 to August 15, 2025. The camp is held at the Appeltuin.
- Each day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:30 PM.
- No musical experience is required.
- This music camp does not include overnight stays.
- Lunch is not provided. Rockertjes should bring their own packed lunches. We will provide an afternoon snack and plenty of hydration.
- A ticket for Leuven’s smallest festival is €345*.
- We are not responsible for any star behavior your Rockertje might develop!
*The Rockschool is recognized as an acting member of the Leuven Cultural Council. As a result, you can request a childcare certificate (281.86). In addition to this certificate, you can also receive reimbursement from your health insurance fund for playground activities. To do this, you need to request a form from your health insurance fund and provide it to us fully completed during one of the camp days.

Did your little Rocker enjoy the guidance of the coach and the camp atmosphere so much that you wish this could continue throughout the school year? Then you can sign up for our band classes in Leuven. Just like at camp, you'll get a band and a coach, and you’ll meet every week to work on various songs, aiming for another spectacular performance at the end of the school year.
