Do you have a mini-Rocker at home between the ages of 5 and 8 who would love to take their first musical steps? Sign them up for the Mini-Rockertjes Week!
From August 11 to 15, we’ll transform the Appeltuin in Leuven into a real Rockertje Werchter. For five days (without overnight stays), the mini-Rockers will dive into a summer festival full of musical activities, games, and much more. They’ll also get their first experience with musical instruments, and at the end of the week, they’ll perform together as an orchestra in an electrifying final concert!

What does this musical camp look like:
The Mini-Rockertjes Week is the smallest and most fun music camp in Leuven and the surrounding area! Each day, we dive into a new musical theme through musical games and creative crafts: make your own merch, customize vinyl records, decorate a real rock guitar, sing songs together, and join in a music quiz—all without needing any musical experience. It might seem impossible to pack so much fun into one music camp, but we manage to pull it off every time!
Activities with a Musical Theme
The Mini-Rockertjes Week is, above all, a music camp where young musical talents get to explore music in all its forms in a playful way— from rhythm to melody, from songs to genres. Each day is centered around a musical genre, and we base our games, activities, and craft projects on that theme. Whether it's learning the basics of rhythm and tempo with pots and pans to the beat of AC/DC, or decorating old vinyl records with a hip-hop flair, the fun never stops. The themes and activities change with every edition of the music camp, so they are still top secret for now, but each year they are a resounding success!
Every year, the Mini-Rockertjes create their own unique t-shirts (or other merch) as a memento of the best music camp in Leuven. From 1960s tie-dye to more modern designs and everything in between, the t-shirts are truly one-of-a-kind pieces that might even become collector's items in a few years!
Music Initiation
Our music camp isn't just any summer camp—it's the first opportunity for the Mini-Rockertjes to get a taste of music. While they don’t receive formal music lessons, they are introduced to musical concepts and instruments. What does it feel like to sit behind a drum kit? How do the keys of a piano feel, and what can you do with them? All of this is explored in a playful and engaging way, under the guidance of one of our professional coaches.
With these experiences under their belts, the Mini-Rockertjes come together like a grand orchestra to deliver a thrilling performance at the end of the week.
Who is welcome?
All mini rock stars aged 5 to 8 are welcome. If you’re a bit older, you can join one of our other music camps. Be sure to check out our Rockertjes Week or our Rock Camp!
No prior musical experience is needed for the Mini-Rockertjes Week.
You don’t need to be enrolled at De Rockschool to participate.
Performance
The final concert will take place on August 15 at 4:00 PM in the Appeltuin. All parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, friends, and distant friends are welcome to come and shed a proud tear!
Practical Information
- The Mini-Rockertjes Week runs from August 11 to August 15, 2025 at De Appeltuin.
- This music camp is without overnight stays.
- Lunch is not provided. Mini rockers should bring their own packed lunches. We do provide an afternoon snack and plenty of hydration.
- No Musical Experience Needed
- Each day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.
- A ticket for Leuven’s smallest festival is €295*.
- We are not responsible for any star behavior that may arise in your mini rocker!
*The Rockschool is recognized as an acting member of the Leuven Cultural Council. As a result, you can request a childcare certificate (281.86). In addition to this certificate, you can also receive reimbursement from your health insurance fund for playground activities. To do this, you need to request a form from your health insurance fund and provide it to us fully completed during one of the camp days.

What if your Mini-Rockertje loved our music camp so much that they can’t wait until next year? Or what if their musical interest has been sparked, and they’re eager to begin their musical journey? Good news—starting from age 6, the Mini-Rockertjes can take lessons at De Rockschool! If your Mini-Rockertje is enrolled, they’ll receive a €20 discount on all our camps.
And if that’s not what your Mini-Rockertje is looking for, they’re always welcome to come back next year!
