Rock Camp Easter

An early start to the best music camp from Leuven

Are you between 16 and 25 years old and can’t wait until summer to join the best music camp in Sint-Joris-Weert? Do you want to further develop your musical skills and have a week of fun? Then our Easter Camp is perfect for you!

From April 14 to 18, 2025, we’ll head to de Kluis in Sint-Joris-Weert for a week full of music, where we’ll play together, discover new music, and take your skills to the next level. Guided by our experienced coaches, we’ll form real rock bands, which will be prepared during group lessons for an electrifying performance at the end of the week!

What does the camp look like?

For anyone who’s already joined the summer version of our music camp, this will sound familiar, but for new rockers, we’re happy to lay it all out again. Our legendary music camp has everything a rocker or already complete rock band need to secure their future among the stars, as well as everything a rocker needs to relax and party! The week includes music lessons, both as a band and per instrument, along with workshops on topics like instrument technique and maintenance, PA systems, stage presence, songwriting and more. No summer camp would be complete without evening activities, ours are of course, musically themed in our music camp.

Band Lessons

You’ll receive lessons with your brand-new band, under the guidance of your personal band coach. In these sessions, you'll work on the material you’ll be performing at the final concert. Each band is made up of a balanced mix of vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Bands are formed and announced at the beginning of the camp. In assigning groups, we consider the preferences you can specify at registration. We'll place you with other musicians based on genre, age, and experience.

Do you play an instrument not on this list? Don’t hesitate to sign up anyway. We can’t guarantee it, but who knows, we might find a cool band for you!

The band lessons are led by our professional coaches. Each coach takes charge of one band and guides them throughout the week, leading up to the final concert.

Music Lessons

We offer individual lessons, focusing on improving your specific part in the band. Need help with a certain riff, solo, or progression? Or do you have more general questions? Individual music lessons are the place to get answers. Additionally, there are group lessons by instrument, where you’ll polish your theory and technique. You’ll learn all about time signatures, scales, and harmony, as well as proper warm-up techniques for your instrument or a performance.

The lessons are provided by our professional coaches, each of whom has years of experience in their discipline and in teaching. They’ll be there to help you through any musical problem you might face.

Workshops

Every year, the coaches select their own workshops, and we've had quite a variety over the years. These can cover musical themes like songwriting, vocal fry, band arrangement, basic vocal techniques, and shredding.

But it doesn't stop there; you can also dive into more technical topics. In the past, we've covered Instrument Maintenance, Home Recording, and the famous PA with Bob XXL (“You had to be there”).

Each year brings a new selection of workshops, which you’ll discover at camp.

Evening activities

Of course, a summer camp wouldn't be complete without evening activities, and at rock camp, they always have a musical theme. These are organized by our two brilliant counselors. These activities are currently a closely guarded secret, but they are a roaring success every year.

Who is welcome?

Have you ever dreamed of being in a band, standing on stage in front of a sold-out crowd, or would you just like to join a music camp instead of another normal summer camp? Then you can join us! All rockers between 16 and 25 years old are welcome at our music camp You don’t need to be a student at De Rockschool to join; everyone is welcome! The only thing we expect is that you have at least one year of experience with your instrument. Are you younger than 16? Then be sure to check out our Summer Rock Camp or the Rockertjes Week.

Performance

We wrap up the camp with a sold-out performance, where all the rockers and bands set the stage on fire with the skills they’ve learned!

The final concert will take place on April 18. The stage where history will be made, is still to be announced.

Doors: 6:00 PM
First set: 6:30 PM
End: 9:00 PM

All parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, and distant friends are more than welcome to come rock with us

Practical

• We expect everyone to arrive at De Kluis between 10:00 and 10:30 AM. It's a 25 minute drive from Leuven.
• Accommodation and meals are provided.
• The camp fee is €615.
• Participants should have at least one year of experience on their instrument.
• We supply plenty of pianos, microphones, cables, and stands. 
• For Guitarists and Bassists: Please bring your own instrument and necessary gear (cables, stand, picks, etc.).

After the Camp

You might be wondering how to return to everyday life after such an amazing experience. The good news is that your journey doesn’t end here. You and your newly formed band can keep going in several ways. After the camp, you'll be well-prepared to continue working on your repertoire and even expand it. Maybe you’ll even start writing your own songs! If that’s the case, you’re always welcome in Leuven, where we occasionally offer rehearsal space to our newly formed bands. If you want to rehearse more frequently, we can point you in the right direction for other options.

Did you enjoy the guidance from the coach and the camp atmosphere so much that you wish you could experience it throughout the school year? Then you can join our band lessons at De Rockschool. Just like at camp, you’ll be assigned a band and a coach, and you’ll meet every week to work on various songs, aiming to put on another spectacular performance.
