De Rockschool wouldn’t be itself if we didn’t do our best to launch new concepts and initiatives to support our students and musicians from all around.
Are you in a band and have you ever noticed how difficult it can be to find a rehearsal space in Leuven and the surrounding area? And even when you do find one, you might realize that you only get a limited amount of time to rehearse—much of which is wasted setting up and packing away your gear. Wouldn't it be great if you didn’t have to deal with these frustrations and could just rehearse all day?
To tackle this issue, De Rockschool is organizing the Band Retreat for the very first time! What exactly does this entail?
The Band Retreat is a week-long event where we transform de Kluis domain into multiple rehearsal spaces that bands can rent for at least 24 hours! Is your band looking for a place where you can rehearse undisturbed and as loud as you want? Or do you need a secluded location to work on an album or fine-tune your live set? You can do it all at our Retreat!
From April 14 to April 18, you and your band can rent a rehearsal space for one or multiple days. Whether you stay for a day or the whole week, you’ll receive three professionally prepared meals per day and accommodation. Not only can you rehearse as much as you want, but you’ll also be well taken care of. Plus, there’s unlimited coffee and water, and you’ll have access to snacks, soft drinks, and maybe even something stronger in the evening.
Your rehearsal space is surrounded by the beautiful natural domain of the Kluis. This means you won’t be disturbing anyone when you play loud. Plus, you’ll be almost entirely off-grid, allowing you to focus completely on your music. Prefer to balance rehearsing with relaxation? That’s possible too! Go for a walk, play some music in the open air—your band has the freedom to shape each day exactly as you like.
You can choose from three different packages, each offering additional benefits. Don’t want to haul your gear or waste time setting up? You can rent equipment from us, and we’ll transport it for you. Want to improve your songwriting, teamwork, or something else? You can request coaching and have one of our professional coaches work with your band for four hours.
For those who are interested, we also offer evening activities, such as a campfire, a quiz, or jam sessions. Your band won’t be alone—you’ll have the chance to meet other bands, jam together, learn from each other, and more. There will also be a bar on-site where you can grab a drink together, or you can explore one of the local cafés.
If you join us, your day starts at 4 PM, and you’ll have your rehearsal space until 4 PM the following day. If you book multiple consecutive days, your space remains yours. However, your booked days don’t have to be back-to-back.

The Band Retreat is not the Easter Rock Camp. There are no age restrictions or mandatory events.
